My mother has a number of pre-existing conditions and getting her access to quality care has always been a struggle. From filling out countless forms and applications, to denials of care from insurance companies, I have experienced first hand the difficulty so many families go through when it comes to caring for our loved ones - that’s why this issue is so important to me.
As State Representative, I will fight everyday for our families and seniors to ensure that access to healthcare is a right, not a privilege:

-
Work with Governor Whitmer to ensure all Michigan residents have access to quality, affordable health care through their employer, the Affordable Care Act, Medicare, and Medicaid expansion.
-

-
Support the Prescription Drug Consumer Protection Board, to serve as a watchdog for price gouging and unethical practices alongside the Office of the Attorney General.

-
Expand access to quality healthcare in rural Michigan.

-
Ensure Michigan workers have access to paid leave for sickness, paternity / maternity, and caring for ill family members.
-
-
-
Treat mental health as seriously as we treat physical health.

Declare racism a public health crisis and develop policy language and model practices to abolish systemic racism that greatly contributes to health inequities.
